The Cross and The Switchblade is a TRUE story written by an awesome preacher, that is still preaching in New York, named David Wilkerson. This is the story about how God sent him to New York to preach the gospel on the streets of New York, The trials he faced along the way and the miraculous transformation of gang leader Nicky Cruz, who is still preaching to this day. I read this book to the kids for Reading Comprehension everyday and then when we got all done and completed book reports we got to watch the movie. It's great for kids today to really understand firsthand what it means to say, the book was BETTER than the movie!!
